Sept 23 – Organizational meeting: planning QECR activities for the fall, expanding the website. Open to anyone; in the reading center, ground floor of Reeves Hall, 10:00-12:00 a.m.



Oct 7 – 9:00-12:00 – First regular meeting of the year, Argyros Forum 209-C. Planned focus: joining Jonathan Kozol's movement to address the upcoming Congressional vote to re-authorize No Child Left Behind—what action should our affiliate group take?



Oct 26 – 8:00 p.m., Argyros 209-C – 2006 Hassinger Lecture: David Berliner, speaking on “How high-stakes testing corrupts education.” Tickets needed for entry; no charge to Chapman students.



Nov 4 – 9:00-12:00 – second meeting of the year, Argyros 209-C. Discussion of Berliner presentation; continue action on NC:LB reauthorization.



Dec 2 – 9:00-12:00 – third meeting of the year, Argyros 209-C. Focus to grow out of work done at Nov. 4 meeting.
